We recommend that you take classes or private lessons from a competent dance teacher so that you can learn to dance with style and with out developing bad habits ...videos cannot help you with this. BUT these videos should be a very good way to review information about shag dance steps and learn about how we dance and teach.

We plan to add new videos regularly. These will be short, free videos that play right on your computer (you may easily download your own copies ..please do so).

RandyandSue Shag Dance Review videos will cover all levels of the dance and will emphasize dancing in a social setting with out reliance on lots of complex mirror steps. Mirror steps are fine (we do tons of them too) but we want to show you a better way to make your dance look good!

Singles - Couples - Mini Class (up to 4 people can share a lesson!) Lessons are one hour with two instructors Private dance floor in our home! Available as single one hour lessons or save with a set of four! Up to 4 students may share the lesson at no extra charge (Mini Class!).

We have 12+ years of experience teaching and demonstrating North and South Carolina's famous SHAG! We are well known for our smooth style and technique.

Lessons are available for beginners up to advanced. We specialize in teaching social style shag dancing. No Partner Required!

Every lesson is taught by both Randy and Sue and we emphasize learning to lead/follow so that you can dance as a couple or with other people in a social dance situation.

What we teach:

Beginners typically learn the basic, start, female turn, male turn, spin-into-side, trail, moving around, and belly roll!

Intermediates learn stutter steps, kick-back, pivot, dancing belly roll, setups, hooks, boogie walk, popovers, doo-dah, apple jack, sugar foot..

Advanced students learn complex pivots, jump-under's, barrel rolls, advanced basic variations,lay-outs, and spins.

How we teach:

Each private lesson is designed to help the student learn to dance while developing their own individual style. We teach simple methods for leading and following so you can dance with your partner smoothly and confidently in a social dance situation.

Particular attention is given to learning balance, smooth style and how to dance to the music. We move at a pace that is comfortable and we offer a lot of detail in our teaching.

We teach in our home on our own private dance floor. It is a wood floor exactly like the ones at Harold's and Ducks. This floor can accommodate up to 4 students plus Randy and Sue at one time. This allows us to offer small group classes. We charge by the lesson --- NOT by the student-- this allows 4 people to share the cost of a lesson! For example: Purchase a 4 lesson package ($150.00) and share the lessons with three friends to have your own private group class at a cost of $37.50 per student for a whole month of private lessons!
